What is this one-time setup fee?
For the Usage plan, we charge a one-time setup fee of $4.95 to cover the costs of setting up your account. The setup fee is waived for all other subscription plans.

What counts as a unique patent image document?
You are only charged for each unique patent image document that you retrieve within a billing cycle. By unique we mean that if you retrieve the same patent multiple times within a month, you are only charged once. You are not charged for retrieval of patent text documents.

What counts as a retrieval?
The account is charged for the retrieval of a patent image document whenever a patent image document is transmitted by our server. This includes transmission via email, batch printing, batch downloading, or direct viewing in a web browser.

What is a file history?
A file history (also known as a image file wrapper) contains scanned copies of all of the correspondence between the patent office and the patent applicant.

How much does a file history cost?
There is a charge of $0.99 per page for file histories in bookmarked CPC format. There is a charge of $1.99 per page for file histories in searchable PDF format. For more information, see the fee schedule.

How does the money back guarantee work?

New users are given a 14 day money back guarantee. If you are unhappy with the service for any reason, just cancel your subscription within the first 14 days, and we will issue you a refund for the initial monthly subscription fee and any set-up fees. If you are having problems with the service, please contact our support team so that we can assist you in resolving the problem. The money back guarantee is available for new, first-time users only. It does not apply to file history charges or excess patent charges.

Can more than one user use a subscription?
Yes. Your subscription can be used by anyone you choose.

Can I use my subscription from more than one computer?
Yes. You can use your subscription from any computer that has Internet access.

Can I sign up for more than one subscription?
Yes. You can sign up for as many subscriptions as you would like.

Do you provide statements?
Yes. You will receive a monthly statement via email. The statements are also available online.

Can I pay by check?
No. We accept payment via Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.

Once I subscribe, can I change my subscription plan?
Yes. You can request a change to your subscription plan at any time. The change takes effect at the start of the next monthly billing cycle.

Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes. You can request cancellation at any time. Cancellation of Usage plan subscriptions takes effect immediately. Cancellation of all other subscription plans takes place at the end of the current monthly billing cycle.
